DON'T BE TOO CONTENT WITH YOUR CONTENT

If created professionally and monitored regularly, a website can be one of the main lead-generating sources for your practice.

However, very often a practice will put their website on the back-burner, and soon forget to regularly maintain or even check their site for search result positions.

This can be very dangerous in the long term because where you show up in search results is aided by your site-update routine, and also hindered by what your competitors are doing.

The search engines are businesses. In order to keep people using Google, for example, Google has to make sure that when a person searches for something they are presented with the best-of-the-best results.

Therefore, Google likes practices that take an interest in themselves by updating their site, or posting new content from time to time. Even if it's just news or blog items, it shows you care.

Another thing Google likes is practices with good reviews. The more reviews you can get your patients to add for you online, the more likely it will be for you to move up the local map listings. Of course, the opposite is also true.

From a business standpoint, it is not practical to promote practices that have either less than glowing reviews or do not update their sites for long periods of time.

In addition to your site possibly being reduced in rating, if competing practices are regularly making changes to their sites and their patients are always leaving positive reviews, you could very soon find yourself lagging behind in the search results.

Because the search engines can take anything from several days to a month to update search positions, even if you start making changes again, it can take a long time to regain any lost ground.
If your competitors are still updating their sites and getting reviews, rising back up in the results can be challenging.

If you have concerns with your web presence reaching your widest customer base, now is the time to look into our WebUpdate system sites.  Not Open Source, they take advantage of advanced SEO, social, and responsive features to give your business the best competitive edge online.
